Short Biography
Dr. Shelley Burke is a Registered Nurse and a clinical assistant professor at Sue and Bill Gross School of Nursing at the University of California, Irvine. She has over four decades in healthcare, starting as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, in Texas. At UCI, Burke’s, focus is pediatric nursing, having worked for over twenty-five years in this specialty. She has covered an extensive field in healthcare, working in medical surgical adult care nursing, women’s health, obstetrics, ambulatory, and pediatrics. In the clinical and academic settings, Burke has worked as a relief charge nurse, a float pool nurse, hospital educator, travel nurse, course lecturer, and clinical instructor. Burke is involved with global nursing education, which focuses on an international collaborative approach to healthcare education and science research.

Childhood diseases and mental health. Women’s health issues and changes throughout their lifespan.
