Four faculty members at the UCI Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing have been promoted to associate professors for their significant contributions to research, teaching excellence, and service to the community. Three of them are tenured.
- Sara Brown, a health sciences faculty member, whose focus on health disparities and health equity has made a significant impact on the health and wellbeing of the community.
- Candace Burton, tenured faculty, was recognized for her research in the area of sexual assault, exceptional teaching, and her commitment and service to diversity and inclusion.
- Amir M. Rahmani, tenured faculty, is one of the world’s top researchers for his extensive research on e-health, wearable Internet-of-Things, healthcare and nursing informatics and medical cyber-physical systems.
- Sanghyuk Shin, tenured faculty, is the director of the UCI Infectious Disease Science Initiative, a multidisciplinary collaboration dedicated to developing new knowledge and insights into infectious diseases and drug resistance.
“All faculty, Drs. Brown, Burton, Rahmani and Shin, are remarkable in promoting the health of communities. We are fortunate to have them at our school,” says Founding Dean and Distinguished Professor Adey Nyamathi. “Their promotions are a testament to their impactful work.”
