UC Irvine Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing Associate Professor Michelle Fortier has secured a grant opportunity in collaboration with UCI Public Health, Michael Hoyt, from the Anti-Cancer Challenge 2019-2020. This $40,000 grant, “Goal Directed Intervention for Adolescent Cancer Survivors,” is designed to conduct individual and focus group interviews with adolescent cancer survivors to adapt a goal-directed intervention developed for young adult cancer survivors to the adolescent population.
We aim to discover the ways in which a cancer diagnosis and its treatment have disrupted goal achievement in adolescents and to adapt and assess the feasibility of an existing goal-directed intervention in this population.
