On June 10, the UCI Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing held a pinning for graduates from the bachelor’s and master’s programs. There was also a hooding ceremony for graduates of the doctor of nursing practice and doctor of philosophy programs.

The pinning ceremony comemorates the completion of the educational and trainig requirements necessary to take the state licensing examinations.  During the ceremony, an individual chosen for their significance to the graduate will place the pin on them.

During the hooding ceremony, the graduate’s academic advisor places the hood.

Among the graduates were members of the school’s first DNP cohort:

  • Pat Patton, Chief Nursing Executive for UC San Francisco Health
  • Ashley Plummer, a women’s health nurse practitioner in Denver, CO
