Yuqing Guo, PhD, RN, FAAN

Biography

Dr. Yuqing Guo’s research has evolved from understanding the emotional health and wellbeing needs of mothers and children to developing impactful interventions through collaborating with community organizations, utilizing mind-body perspective, and leveraging technologies. She has integrated these multiple approaches to create culturally sensitive, acceptable, and scalable interventions to serve vulnerable mothers and children in underserved communities. In recognizing her successful community-engaged participatory research, Dr. Guo received the Community Research Award for Outstanding Community Partnership from the UCI Institute for Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS). She has been funded by the National Science Foundation (2.1 million) along with computer scientists using technology to understand the relationships between sleep, emotional well-being, and cardiovascular health among perinatal women. In 2022, Dr. Guo was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. In 2023, Dr. Guo received the UC END DISPARITY pilot award to co-develop the “Healthy Sleep, Happy Hearts for Two” intervention with BIPOC community organizations to reduce cardiovascular health disparities for Black and Hispanic pregnant mothers.

Current Projects/Studies

Reduction of maternal and child health disparities, mind-body intervention, technology-based intervention, health promotion, infant mental health, family dynamics, community-based participatory research, mixed methods.
