Biography

Dr. Sarah Campbell has been a registered nurse for over 22 years and spent the first decade of her nursing career in the acute setting, caring for complex patients with cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease. Early in her career she developed a passion for patient education and led a team of nurses to develop and standardize patient education for patients with Heart Failure. Campbell attended UC Irvine and graduated from the master’s Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program in 2011. She spent the first six years of her career as an FNP in a thriving Internal Medicine practice, caring for complex patients. She particularly enjoyed seeing multiple generations from one family which allowed her to identify familial patterns and understand their culture, lifestyle, relationships, and unique needs. Campbell joined UCI in 2018 and teaches in the DNP program. She is part of the Faculty Practice in the School and practices clinically on campus at the Student Health Center. She obtained her Doctor of Nursing practice from The Ohio State University.
