Clinical Instructor

Biography

Dr. Paola German is a scholarship recipient and graduate of the Doctor of Nursing Practice – Family Nurse Practitioner Program at the UCI Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing. As a faculty member at the School, German embraces the School of Nursing’s mission of preparing the next generation of nurses and is passionate about progressing healthcare in underserved communities. Her doctoral project (“The Effect of a Quality Improvement Project on Improving Patients’ Willingness to Receive an Influenza Vaccination in the Emergency Department”) demonstrated her commitment to vulnerable populations by conducting a quality improvement project that significantly increased patients’ willingness to receive the influenza vaccine. Further bringing awareness to the importance of vaccinations, she co-authored and published the results with UCI’s Dean Mark Lazenby, Senior Associate Dean Susanne Phillips, and Associate Clinical Professor Angela Jun (available online in the Journal of Immigrant and Minority Health).

German brings over 14 years of diversified experience as a Trauma Registered Nurse at UCI Medical Center’s Emergency Department, a Level 1 Trauma Center, and an Emergency Room Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital. She continues to foster evidence-based practices on campus as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Student Health Center.
