Biography
Professor Nisa Patel has been a registered nurse for nine years and spent the first four years of her nursing career working at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. She has experience caring for complex patients admitted to trauma, neurosurgery, and medical-surgical services. Early in her nursing career, she developed a passion for community health and reducing health care disparities. She went on to receive her Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate in 2017 to work towards addressing health care gaps in the community setting. After completion of her program, she served as a full-time clinician at federally qualified health centers in predominantly underserved communities. She transitioned to Faculty Practice in August of 2023 and now practices clinically once a week at UCI Family Health caring for highly complex patients with acute and chronic conditions.
