Amir Rahmani, PhD

Biography

Amir Rahmani is a Professor of Nursing and Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) and a computer scientist by training.  He is also the Associate Director of the UCI Institute for Future Health, a university-wide organized research unit focusing on personal health empowerment.  His research focuses on Mhealth, data science, wearable and mobile computing.  He leads the multi-disciplinary Health SciTech Group at UCI.  Prior to joining UCI as faculty, he was an EU Mariet Curie Global Fellow in the Computer Science Department at UCI and in the Institute of Computer Technology of TU Wien in Vienna, Austria.  Rahmani is also an adjunct professor in embedded parallel and distributed computing in the Department of Computing of the University of Turku in Turku, Finland.

Research Interests

mHealth, data science, wearable and mobile computing, machine learning and AI, affective computing, bio-signal processing, health informatics, nursing informatics, embedded computing.
