Sue & Bill Gross Nursing Simulation Center

Services & Policies

The Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing Simulation Center welcomes partnering with other programs to advance learning. The simulation facilities provide our students with unique resources essential for clinical training and are costly to maintain. The use of these facilities, therefore, is strictly regulated.

Submit a Request

If you are interested in using any of the simulation spaces, please submit your request to the Simulation Center a minimum of thirty (30) calendar days before the date you propose to use the space(s). Request submission does not guarantee access to the room or rooms and/or resources. Simulation Center staff will contact you about the specifics of your request and determine if we can accommodate your needs.

Questions about creating or scheduling a simulation activity can be directed to the Simulation Director, Jocelyn Ludlow.

Use Policies

For all faculty, clinical instructors and facilitators on class planning, set up and supplies:

  • Course coordinator/faculty of record is responsible for planning course set up, requesting
supplies, and ensuring lab instructors are familiar with the plan.
  • Supply orders may take up to 4 weeks to be delivered, so all requests must be
submitted 5 weeks before the class date.
  • Changes to class set up or supplies should be submitted no later than 2 weeks
    before the date of class
. Due to supply chain issues, changes cannot be guaranteed.
  • Lab instructors should communicate any change requests or additional supplies to the
faculty of record at least 2 weeks prior to class. Course coordinator/faculty of record is
responsible for communicating change requests to the simulation team. Changes cannot
be guaranteed, and no new supply orders will be placed once the final class set up has
    been agreed upon.
  • In order to be good stewards to the environment and to reduce the amount of waste generated by the simulation center, every attempt is made to reuse training supplies, while maintaining as much realism as necessary to meet learning goals. This includes repacking foley kits, sterile glove packages, saving IV tubing and safe recapping of needles.
