Bachelor of Science in Nursing Science
The BS in Nursing Science program, in the top 6% of programs ranked by US News & World Report, is designed for students interested in a nursing career and seeking their first bachelor’s degree. Our program provides an exceptional professional basis for practice as a registered nurse while concurrently building a scholarly foundation that positions our students at the forefront of career advancement opportunities in both health care and academic environments.
Master’s Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN)
Our Master’s Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN) is a two-year, full-time master’s degree program that provides students with the education, training, and clinical hours needed to become Registered Nurses. MEPN is designed for applicants who already have a non-nursing bachelor’s degree, but would like to pursue an accelerated graduate-level program that covers the foundation of nursing practice.
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
The Doctor of Nursing Practice degree is the new scholarly standard for advanced practice nursing. Our DNP graduates are accomplished practitioners of translational
research for evidence-based practice, advocates for innovative policy, and leaders of interdisciplinary health care teams. We offer two tracks. The DNP Post-Master’s is for nurses who are interested in leadership in administration, healthcare delivery and policy. The DNP-FNP is for nurses interested in pursuing independent family practice in California.
Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Science
The Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Science program is designed to prepare nurse scientists with expertise in clinical-translational research methods to advance the scholarly discipline and to contribute to the growing body of knowledge in the field of nursing.
UC Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners Certificate
With California facing an urgent and growing shortage of mental health professionals, the UC Irvine Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing collaborated with the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis, UCSF School of Nursing, and UCLA School of Nursing to launch a new online program to prepare new psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) in California.
The UC PMHNP Certificate Program is geared towards APRNs looking to further their education and training to serve the psychiatric patient populational in their local communities. These include:
– Nurse Practitioners (NPs)
– Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs)
– Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs)
– Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs)
