Centers and Institutes at UCI provide a mechanism and organizational structure for collective—and often convergent—research activities that are fundamentally different from those that typically occur within individual schools or departments.
Center for Nursing Philosophy
CNP aims to provide a platform for increased nursing philosophy scholarship development and dissemination, as well as wider engagement with the local, national, and international philosophy community to identify new foci for inquiry and advancement.
Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing Simulation Center
The simulation center provides immersive education that mimics real-world experiences without real-world risks. Providing this level of education requires efforts from the center staff, the faculty, instructors, and educators who lead the simulation activities, and the students and learner.
CYFER Lab
The CYFER Lab incorporates decolonizing practices and mixes epistemological frameworks to counter compounding challenges of systemic racism, structural violence, and intergenerational trauma and adversity experienced by marginalized people. We seek to collectively build empowerment, resilience, and thriving through critical and creative partnerships and community-engaged research.
Institute for Future Health
IFH aims to integrate lifestyle, community, environment, and social factors in conjunction with clinical knowledge to radically transform health systems away from hospitals and into the hands of each individual. Use power of data created by the nexus of knowledge of genetics and biology, sensors, mobile technology, knowledge-based AI systems, data management, and medical technology to empower people to be healthy. We convert Healthcare to become a popular Personal Health Navigation approach.
