Center for Excellence in Nursing Education

The UC Irvine Sue & Bill Gross of Nursing officially announced the approval and establishment of the Center of Excellence in Nursing Education (CENE) at the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing.

The Center of Excellence in Nursing Education (CENE) will serve as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and professional development in nursing education—both within our school and across the broader health sciences community at UC Irvine. The center’s purpose is to address the educational needs of our faculty, students, staff, preceptors, and clinical partners, promoting evidence-based teaching, educational research, and the advancement of nurse educators at every career stage.

CENE’s mission is to empower educators to deliver life-changing education and care through impactful, evidence-based training, to foster interprofessional collaboration, and to prepare nursing leaders for the future of health care. The Center will provide:

  • Cutting-edge faculty development and educator training
  • Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for faculty and preceptors
  • Teaching internships and simulation fellowships for students
  • Opportunities for research, dissemination, and educational innovation
  • Programming grounded in inclusive excellence and the latest pedagogical advances
