The Center for Nursing Philosophy was honored to co-sponsor a live-streaming virtual panel event with the International Philosophy of Nursing Society (IPONS) on Friday March 25, 2022.
“Philosophical concerns in nursing around the globe: Critical issues from Brazil, Colombia, and Australia,” featured the following panelists:
Meiriele Tavares Araujo, RN, MSN, PhD, Professor, Department of Applied Nursing at the School of Nursing, Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, who presented on Nursing work in Brazil: daily practices and work measured in Intensive Care
Rochelle Einboden, RN, PhD, Lecturer, Faculty of Medicine and Health at the Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Sydney, Australia, who presented on the ongoing challenges in the value of nursing and nurses, and how conceptualisation of figurations might help us more clearly identify challenges and possibilities for shifting ideologies as we move forward.
María Elisa Moreno Fergusson, BSN, DNS, Profesora Titular & Directora programa de Doctorado en Enfermería at the Facultad de Enfermería y Rehabilitación, Universidad de La Sabana, Colombia, who presented on Philosophical and ethical principles to guide nursing research and practice
The event was moderated by the following members of the IPONS executive committee (in alphabetical order): Miriam Bender, Pamela Grace, Darlaine Jantzen, Marie-Louise Luiking, Olga Petrovskaya, and was introduced by current IPONS Chair Catherine Green.
