What did it feel like the first time you made your first gift as a donor? How does it feel to give now?

My wife and I wanted to honor our daughter, Nurse Practitioner Leslie Ann Ferree. Leslie passed away at age 50 from a heart condition. She loved being a nurse, and then a nurse practitioner. I know she would love that we are able to help young men and women achieve this very fine calling. As the years have gone on and the fund has grown, we see more outstanding students realize their dreams.

What are you most passionate about? Why?

I sincerely believe that nurse practitioners are a key element in healthcare delivery.

Why do you give to the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing?

This school is on the cutting edge of healthcare training.

Of all the gifts you’ve given, which is the most memorable to you? Why?

Our first gift is most memorable. Watching the shining face of the recipient was a true joy.

What are your dreams for our community?

Continued growth. More education. More research. Continuing success!

If you could change the world, what would you do?

Instill more kindness, more empathy, more compassion.
