Jung-Ah Lee

Jung-Ah Lee, PhD, RN
Associate Professor

Dr. Jung-Ah Lee, PhD, RN from the UC Irvine Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing, has been selected for the 2020 Athalie Clarke Achievement Award.

The Athalie Clarke Achievement award is given annually to exceptional researchers creating positive change in the field of Medicine and Nursing.

After careful deliberation, Dr. Lee’s groundbreaking research in supporting caregivers of dementia patients was selected for the award. As the increased incidence of depression, isolation and suicide is well documented among caregivers throughout a variety of cultures, it is the work of Dr. Lee who uniquely examines the outcomes of caregiver education, mindfulness and communication. As a result, this relevant and timely research provides hope and support to the many families caring for our ever-growing, aging population who experience memory loss.

It is with great excitement that we announce Dr. Jung- Ah Lee as the 2020 Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing, Nurse Scientist who will be honored at the Virtual Research Associates Athalie Clarke Awards Luncheon on Nov. 17, 2020, from 5 to 6 pm. A brief summary of her work and the award of $5,000 will be presented at that time.
