Professor Evangelista Awarded NIA Grant to Study Fitness Therapies

Lorraine Evangelista, professor and interim associate dean of Academic & Student Affairs, was awarded an exploratory/developmental research grant by the National Institutes of Health/National Institute on Aging (R21AG053162) for her study entitled, “Fitness Intensive Therapy (Get FIT) to Promote Healthy Living in Older Adults.”

Ongoing UCI Nursing School Study Shows a Comprehensive Program Improves Health and Quality of Life for Woman Living with HIV/AIDS in India

Results from an ongoing five-year NIH-funded study indicate increased social support for women living with HIV/AIDS could improve adherence to antiretroviral therapy and mitigate internalized stigma associated with the disease.

Fifty-one seventh- and eighth-grade students from El Sol Academy in Santa Ana participated in the 2nd Annual Future Health Champions Day, dissecting sheep hearts, learning to treat wounds and listening for vital signs.
